Apple has just released iOS 9.0.1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with a number of bug fixes.
iOS 9.0.1 comes just a week after iOS 9 was released to the public.
iOS 9.0.1 fixes the issue where some users were getting stuck at the “Slide to Upgrade” screen while
updating to iOS 9, which was quite tricky to resolve in certain cases
without losing data. It also fixes an annoying issue where the alarm and
timers failed to play for some users after upgrading to iOS 9.
According to the release notes, iOS 9.0.1 includes the following bug fixes:
Fixes an issue where some users could not complete setup assistant after updating
Fixes an issue where sometimes alarms and timers could fail to play
Fixes an issue in Safari and Photos where pausing video could cause the paused frame to appear distorted
Fixes an issue where some users with a custom APN setup via a profile would lose cellular data
If you have jailbroken your
iOS device and cannot live without your favorite jailbreak apps and
tweaks then it is recommended that you avoid updating to iOS 9, until a
jailbreak for iOS 9 is released.

The wait is over! Apple has flipped the switch. You can now download

4, 3, 2 and iPod touch 6 and 5. The newly announced iPhone 6s Plus,

iOS 9 brings with it a number of new features, especially for iPads
which includes advanced multitasking features such as Split View, Slide
Over and PiP (Picture-in-Picture). Besides this, Siri advancements such
as Proactive Siri Assistant, revamped Notes app, a brand new Apple News
app, a new Low Power Mode for saving battery, among others are also part
of this major update.
For jailbreak users: It is important to note here that currently there is no public jailbreak available for iOS 9 yet. While a iOS 9 jailbreak
has already been demonstrated by iH8sn0w, there’s no confirmation on
when or if he ever plans to release it. Therefore if you are on iOS 8.4

If you’ve ever browsed your Facebook timeline for more than a few
minutes, you will have almost certainly asked yourself why there is no
“dislike” button. Facebook now feels the same way, it seems, so it is
finally going to add one.
“People have asked about the ‘dislike’ button for many years, and
probably hundreds of people have asked about this, and today is a
special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are
working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it,” confirmed
Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg, who was speaking during a question and answer session in
Menlo Park, California, on Tuesday, added that the social network has
been working on the “dislike” button for some time. However, the button
isn’t intended to be an alternative to Reddit’s “downvote.”
“We don’t want to turn Facebook into a forum where people
are voting up or down on people’s posts,” Zuckerberg said. “You don’t
want to go through the process of sharing some moment that was important
to you in your day and have someone ‘downvote’ it.”
Instead, the “dislike” button is designed to give Facebook users a
way to “express empathy” for friends in certain situations — like when
they share news that is sad, and it isn’t appropriate to “like” it.
Zuckerberg insists it is “surprisingly complicated” to add a
“dislike” button to the mix — which could be the reason why it’s taken
so long to get here — but it’s thought the button will enter testing
with a small group of Facebook users soon before a wider rollout.
Apple Watch, the most personal device Apple has ever created went on
sale on April 24th, 2015 in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France,
Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, and the UK.
It comes in 2 sizes: 38mm and 42mm case, and three collections –
Apple Watch Sport in aluminum casing, Apple Watch in stainless steel

The Apple Watch Sport is the cheapest model, and starts at $349, while the Apple Watch Edition costs as much as $17,000.
The Apple Watch runs Watch OS, a flavor of iOS. It is powered by
Apple’s custom-designed S1 SiP (System in Package), and includes
revolutionary features such as the Digital Crown that lets you scroll,
zoom, and navigate the display, which also works as a Home button and a
convenient way to access Siri. The Retina Display on the Apple Watch
features Force Touch, which adds a whole new dimension to the user

Apple’s iPencil launched to target graphic designers and professional artists
Apple introduced the biggest ever iPad called iPad Pro
with a 12.9 inch display at a media event on Wednesday. The company
also introduced the first Apple Pencil, a new stylus designed for the
iPad Pro for drawing and sketching.
The Apple Pencil is designed to be used with the larger iPad, which
is aimed at professional artists and designers. According to Jonathan
Ive, Apple’s chief design officer, the Pencil will allow a new precision
in drawing on the screen of the iPad, responding to different levels of
pressure and different angles.
With pressure sensors, it can detect how hard you are pushing on the
screen and change the width of the line you draw accordingly. With more
advanced sensors on the tip, it can detect the angle of the pencil
stroke, so it feels more like a real pen.
“Highly responsive sensors built into the tip of the Apple Pencil
work with the iPad Pro display to detect position, force and tilt,” said
Ive in a movie shown as part of Apple’s product presentation yesterday.
“With force data you can press lightly to get a thin stoke or press
harder to get a darker, bolder stroke. Signals emitted from two
locations in the tip calculate the angle and orientation to produce
broad or shaded strokes.”
The technology that reads the touch on the screen has been designed
in a different way to identify the difference between different Pencil
strokes and a finger touch.
“Its unique tip signature allows it to be used simultaneously with
your finger and, with incredibly low latency, it has a responsiveness
that feels like a true writing or drawing instrument,” said Ive. “Apple
Pencil is designed to look and feel like a familiar tool, yet with its
carefully engineered technology, working with our most advanced
multi-touch display, it delivers something extraordinary – precision
that actually gives you the ability to touch a single pixel.”
The top of the Apple Pencil contains sensors that feed information
back to the tablet device. The Apple Pencil can be recharged via an
Apple-standard Lightning cable, which you can apparently plug straight
into the iPad Pro. Apple says the Pencil should last about 12 hours, and
in case of emergencies, 15 seconds of charging can provide about 30
minutes of use. The Apple Pencil is supported by apps like the updated
Notes and Mail, coming in iOS 9. Third party applications will also
support it.
Apple had Microsoft on stage to demonstrate the Apple Pencil working
with Microsoft Office apps running on the iPad Pro. In that demo,
Microsoft showed up how you can use an Apple Pencil for marking up
Office documents and sharing the annotations.
With iOS 9’s multitasking features, Microsoft also showed off using
the Apple Pencil to bring data across apps. With the Apple Pencil,
graphics professionals get an easier, more responsive way to digitally
edit pictures and photos.
The company will be shipping the Apple Pencil in November at a price of $99.
Apple iPad Pro launched with 12.9 inch display, smart keyboard, stylus accessory
The world’s biggest tech brand Apple announced a new addition to the
iPad family, iPad Pro, which the Apple CEO Tim Cook called the “the
biggest news in iPad since the iPad.” To be available in November, the
new iPad Pro features a 12.9-inch screen with 2732 x 2058 pixel display,
which is more than 5.6 million pixels.
The iPad Pro is powered by the new “desktop class” 64-bit A9X chip
from Apple, which promises 1.8 times faster performance than that of the
existing second-generation 64-bit A8X chip that runs iPad Air 2. Phil
Schiller, Senior Vice President Worldwide Marketing at Apple claimed
that the iPad Pro is faster than 80% of portable PCs that shipped in the
last year. The device is 6.9mm thin and weighs 1.57 pounds, only a
little more than the original iPad.
Apple also says the new iPad Pro is powerful enough to edit three 4K
streams at once. Further, the graphics performance on the iPad Pro is
360 times more than the original 2010 iPad. Apple is aiming this device
specifically at enterprises and customers who need powerful,
professional hardware for productivity.
Apple also introduced an optional Smart Keyboard that’s built right
into the new device’s case. The optional accessory is covered in fabric,
including the keys, and connects to the iPad Pro via a new “smart
connector.” The connector attaches magnetically and carries power and
data. The Smart Keyboard that is specifically designed for iPad Pro will
be priced at $169 and ship in November.
Another new accessory created specifically for the iPad Pro is a
stylus called Apple Pencil. The Apple Pencil is being sold as a
super-accurate way of drawing and sketching on the screen. The iPad Pro
comes with the standard 10 hour battery life, similar to what the
standard iPad and iPad mini offer. The largest iPad ever has a
four-speaker audio system and balances the sound automatically,
depending on how it is being held.
Microsoft Office will work on the iPad, and Adobe has created a suite
of software tools for the new iPad, including one called Comp for
laying out pages and editing photos. It will also work with apps like
AutoCAD and Autodesk. It supports multitasking with Split Screen app
view, where two apps can be shown at the same time.
The iPad Pro will ship this November in Silver, Gold, Space Grey
colours at a price of $799 for 32GB storage (Wi-Fi only), $949 for 128GB
storage (Wi-Fi only), and $1079 for 128GB storage Wi-Fi+LTE variant.
There is no 64GB variant of this tablet.
Apple unveiled iOS 9, the ninth major release of the mobile operating
system for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch during the WorldWide Developer
Conference keynote on June 8th.
iOS 9 includes new features such as Proactive Assistant, transit
directions in Maps, enhanced multitasking features for the iPad, and
lots more. iOS 9 will be compatible with all iOS 8-compatible devices.
Apple seeded the first beta version of iOS 9 to developers on June 18th. Apple will release iOS 9 later this fall.
At its big event Wednesday afternoon, Apple just unveiled its new iPhones, the 6S and the 6S Plus.
On stage, CEO Tim Cook says that the company has "changed everything"
about the iPhone, and that the two new models are the "most advanced
smartphones in the world."
The iPhone 6S will have a 4.7-inch display and the 6S plus will have
a 5.5-inch display. It's offering a new "rose gold" model that uses an
entirely new aluminum than prior phones.
With a two-year contract, the 6S starts at $199 for 16 GB and the 6S
Plus starts at $299. Pre-orders start September 12 and they go on sale
in-store on the 25th.
Even if you don't plan on buying a new iPhone, you can get Apple's latest software, iOS 9, on September 16.

The biggest improvements are a new sensor technology called "3D
touch" that introduces a bevy of new shortcuts and an improved camera.
There's also a faster processor.
We've got more details below, but here's a quick-and-dirty look at all the upgrades:
3D touch
The new iPhone will also have something called "3D touch," which
is an upgrade to the "multi-touch" technology that lets you swipe and
pinch your iPhone screen.
Apple's calling it a "whole new dimension to how you interact with
your iPhone." Basically, the screen can recognize force, meaning that
you can do different things depending on how hard you touch the screen.
This opens up a whole range of new shortcuts. For example, you can
open up new menus depending on how hard you touch the screen. Apple's
naming the two new touch-types "peek" and "pop."
"This is unlike anything you've ever tried before," Apple's Phil Schiller said on stage.
The point of 3D touch is to save you time. For example, if you're in
the Mail app, you can lightly touch a particularly email message to see
its content. When you release your finger, you'll go back into your main
inbox. However, if you press down harder, you'll dive right into the
message so you can fully read it and respond.
If you press down on an app on the homescreen, you'll get a new menu
of shortcut options. For example, if you press the camera icon, you can
automatically open up the selfie camera for example. On Facebook, you
can update your status via the home screen.

Apple's new iPhones will also have a new processor that's 70% faster
than its last one. Apple's calling the new processing chip the "A9." The
added speed combined with 3D touch will be great for gamers, Apple
says. For example, you can switch weapons in a shooting game by
pressing down harder on the screen, instead of by having to lift your
finger off the screen.
The new processor also has an always-on motion co-processor, for motion-tracking, and a better Touch ID system.
The new iSight camera
Apple says that it's also improved its camera that has 50% more
mega-pixels than the last version: Introducing the 12 MP iSight camera.
Even though more megapixels can lead to "noisy" images, Apple says
that it's gone to great lengths to keep the details of iPhone photos
looking sharp and the colors as accurate as possible.

Apple says that the new iPhone camera is better than ever at taking
low-light photos and even bigger panoramas. It can take HD videos and
even 4K videos, which have even more detail than HD. The Facetime camera
got an upgrade too, so you can take more detailed selfies.
There's also a better flash that will light up three-times brighter while still keeping colors looking accurate.
Apple also introducing a new feature called "Live Photos." You take a
photo as regular, but Apple captures 1.5 seconds of additional content
on either side. So, even though it doesn't take up as much space as a
regular video, you're essentially getting little videos, so you can make
your photos animate.
The new iPhones will also have 23 bands of LTE — the most on any smartphone — and wi-fi that's twice as fast.
Pricing
Both phones will go on sale on September 25,
though pre-orders start the 12. The iPhone 6S will cost $199 with a
contract and the iPhone 6S Plus will cost $299 with a contract.
Apple's also starting something called the "iPhone upgrade program"
that will make it cheaper for people to get new iPhones every year.
You'll pay $32 a month for two years, but get a new iPhone every year.
"These are truly the best iPhones we've ever created," CEO Tim Cook said on stage.
Apple's new mobile operating system finally has a release date. iOS 9
will be available on September 16th across the world. The date was
announced on stage at the company's latest product keynote, alongside
new hardware including the Apple TV and the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. iOS 9 was first announced at WWDC in June,
and was made available as a public beta the following month, but this
will be the first official release for the operating system. The company did not specify a time of day for the release, but Apple
traditionally releases upgrades at 1PM ET and is expected to do the same
with iOS 9. Most of the upgrades in the new iOS focus on making iPhones smarter, faster, and more efficient.
The biggest change is the iPad's new multitasking mode, which allows
users to run two apps side by side simultaneously, similar to features
in Surface and Galaxy tablets. Siri is also getting an upgrade, as a new
feature called Proactive will offer contextual user suggestions based
on habits, location, or time of day. Spotlight searches will also get
more powerful, allowing users to search content within apps and perform
unit conversions without opening a web search. For anyone upgrading immediately, the biggest difference will be size
and speed. The iOS 9 package requires only 1.8GB of free space to
install — less than half of what iOS 8 required — and the new low power
mode will let users squeeze an extra three hours of battery life out of a
single charge.

impression is the last impression, and Asus’s latest intimidating
wireless router intends to make a long lasting impact. Asus is boasting
its latest wireless router, the Asus RT-AC5300 as the “world’s fastest
WiFi”.
The router looking like a creepy alien crab doesn’t score high on
aesthetics, but it claims to be the best in business, thanks to its
eight dual band antennas. Asus RT-AC5300 is a tri-band router.On the 4 GHz band, it is capable of providing
speed up to 1Gbps. It
also has dual 5 Ghz band frequencies. Individually the dual frequencies
can give speeds up to 2.167 Gbps and can reach to a maximum 5.3 Gbps
when paired together. (The figures are all theoretical)
Linksys had also launched the very first MU-MIMO-enabled router in May this year that cold hit the speeds of 2.53 Gbps.
The Asus RT-AC5300 comes with WiFi b/g/n/ac, a gigabit WAN port, and
four gigabit LAN ports on the back. You can also add printers and
external storage with the USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port.
The Asus RT-AC5300 WiFi router will reach the markets later this year and its price has not been revealed yet.
In less than two weeks from now, Apple will be unveiling the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus
at the Bill Graham Civic Bell Auditorium. Despite being a long time
Android user, I whole heartedly agree to the fact that the iPhone is
easily the most ‘perfect’ smartphone in the market.
With almost all Android smartphones disappointing in one or the other key areas, I am now really looking forward to the iPhone 6s (and iPhone 6s Plus).
Like almost every other person who follows the tech industry out there,
there are certain features that I hope Apple adds in the upcoming
iPhones. What are they? Read below to find out.
#5 Better camera
iPhones have always been known for their camera performance and are
widely regarded as having the best cameras found in a smartphone.
Despite numerous claims, Samsung and other Android OEMS have always
remained a step or two behind Apple in terms of camera performance.
However, with their flagship handsets this year, Android
OEMs have made great improvements in the camera department. In fact, the
Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4 offer a camera experience that is even
better than that of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The difference in
camera performance between the latest gen Android flagships and the
iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is especially visible in low light, where the
latter struggles to capture usable images without introducing a lot of
grain.
If leaks are anything to go by, the iPhone 6s will come with a 12MP rear camera that
will also be capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. It is a
given that the cameras on the upcoming iPhones are going to be a huge
upgrade over their predecessors, but the question is will it be enough
to beat the shooters of the Galaxy S6 and LG G4?
#4 Quick charging
Usually, it takes anywhere between 2-2.5 hours to charge an iPhone.
While this was the standard time taken by almost all smartphones to
charge their battery to full from almost 0, things have changed
significantly over the last one year. Almost all high-end Android
flagships are now able to charge from 0-100% in only around 1.4 hours.
This is despite them coming with batteries that are of significantly
higher capacity than the one found on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
For comparison, the iPhone 6 Plus, which comes with a 2915mAh
battery, takes just over 3 hours to charge from 0-100%. Thanks to fast
charging, the Galaxy Note 5 can be charged twice from 0-100 percent in the same amount of time, even though it comes with a slightly bigger 3,000mAh battery.
Another benefit of quick charging is that even if the device is
charged for only around 10 minutes, it gains around 20-40 percent of
additional battery charge, which can come in very handy in certain
scenarios.
Quick charging is one such feature that you will want in almost all
your devices once you get used to it. One can only hope that Apple
includes a similar feature on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, though
the chances of the company doing so are slim.
#3 More RAM
Last year, I grew tired of the poor camera quality of most Android
smartphones and jumped ship to the iPhone 6. The experience was a
revelation in itself; smooth scrolling in all apps, not a hint of lag
and an App Store that was filed with some quality apps and games.
However, a month down the line, I came across a major issue with the
iPhone 6: due to the lack of RAM, the device constantly offloaded apps
from memory.
After using Android phones for years, a crippled multitasking
experience was a huge deal breaker for me. I just could not understand
why other iPhone owners never complained about the same issue. The fix
for this problem is actually a pretty simple one: all Apple needs to do
is add more RAM to the iPhone. With even sub -$100 budget Android
smartphones now coming with 2GB RAM, it is now high time that Apple
also upgrades the paltry 1GB of RAM on the iPhone to something like 2 or
3GB.
Thankfully, if reports are anything to go by,
the new iPhones will come with 2GB RAM, which will translate into
better multitasking performance. It will also allow game developers to
make more use of textures without worrying about running out of RAM.
#2 Less bugs
One of the prime reasons I switched to an iPhone 6 last year was due
to the sheer number of bugs present in Lollipop. A month down the line
with iOS 8/iOS 8.1 and I realised just how buggy the OS was. Spotlight
not showing up, SwiftKey being randomly being replaced with the stock
iOS keyboard, and so much more. Needless to say, I was disappointed with
my overall experience with iOS 8, though to Apple’s credit, it did
manage to squash most of the bugs with iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3, which were released earlier this year.
With iOS 9 bringing with a lot of new features and enhancements, I hope that Apple has not once again sacrificed the stability of the OS in order to stuff in the new features to the OS.
#1 One more thing
Thanks to leaks and rumors, we now end up knowing about every key new
feature of a major smartphone days (and sometimes weeks) before its
official unveiling. Due to this, there is no element of surprise left at
the official launch event of these smartphones. Look back at some
of major flagship Android smartphone launches this year like the Galaxy
Note 5, Galaxy S6, and LG G4, or even the iPhone 6 last year, and you
will notice that there was nothing ‘new’ that these companies announced
when they unveiled the device at their respective launch events. There
was no surprising new feature or a feature that could make one literally
go “Wow!”.
This year, things are no different as thanks to various leaks and reports, we virtually know almost everything about the upcoming new iPhones.
However, if there is one company that is still capable of surprising
the tech-y audience in this leaky world that will be attending and watching its event live on September 9th,
it is Apple. The company might just surprise everyone with how it will
put Force Touch to use on the new iPhones, a feature about which the
only thing that is known right now is that it will be used to speed up day-to-day iOS activities.
The Pirate Bay website is not reachable due to unknown reasons
Since past 4 hours, popular torrents website, The Pirate Bay is
unreachable and giving a error code 522/504. The reasons for the TPB
being down are not known at the moment but it seems that the problems
are at the hosting end of the popular torrent website.
The news that TPB is down is causing a mild panic among torrent
lovers and fans because just 6 months ago a raid by Swedish police on
its Nacka data centre had brought The Pirate Bay down for almost 3
months.
As of now, The Pirate Bay displays a CloudFlare error message across
all domain names, suggesting that TPB’s servers are unresponsive.

The Pirate Bay status page shows that except for Tor, other TPB feature are suffering a downtime.
The site is still accessible via the Tor network (through http://uj3wazyk5u4hnvtk.onion/), including the popular Pirate Browser.
Throughout the start of 2015, there have been rumors and circulations regarding the next-generation iPhone’s camera, with several reports pointing to a 12-megapixel shooter.
Now, based on a report published recently by 9to5Mac,
those rumors have been given a bit more meat. According to the report,
if accurate, it means that Apple will upgrade the megapixel count within
its iPhone lineup for the first time since the launch of the iPhone 4S
back in 2011. This means the new cameras in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s
Plus will jump up to 12-megapixels, rather than stick on the 8MP as is
present in the current generation of devices.
And, according to sources, based on information gleaned regarding
Apple’s incoming A9 processor, and the upgraded image signal processor
along with it, images will not be washed out, or otherwise see a
decrease in quality. Couple that with the new 12MP shooter, and it
certainly sounds like a nice improvement to Apple’s already impressive
camera.
Apple is also including a new level of video recording,
too, adding in 4K recording. That’s a big addition for Apple’s cameras,
to be sure, and so it shouldn’t be surprising if Apple uses it as a
major bullet point for selling the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
The front-facing camera is said to get a boost, too, including an
upgraded sensor for better overall quality of video and images. While
some individuals have speculated in the past that Apple would include an
LED flash on the front of the handset, based on this report’s
information that is not the case. Instead, when the front-facing camera
is activated, and a photo is snapped, the screen will quickly flash a
white screen to brighten up the image. This is similar to the way that
Apple’s Photo Booth works, as well as the poplar Snapchat.
The front-facing camera will reportedly also get 720p slow motion video recording, as well as panorama shots.
It certainly sounds like Apple is putting a big focus on the camera,
and that will more than likely be a welcomed presence for the new
iPhones when they launch later this year. As it stands, it’s expected
that Apple will hold its event on September 9.

Besides releasing iOS 8.4.1 and OS X 10.10.5,
Apple has also released iTunes 12.2.2 today. The latest version of the
app contains bug fixes related to Apple Music and adds supports for
Beats 1 schedule.
With iTunes 12.2.2 installed, Apple Music users will be able to view
the broadcast schedule of Beast 1 by clicking on its banner from within
the app. Additionally, the update also adds an option to view all the
artists that you are following on Connect in Apple Music.

Apple has just released iOS 8.4.1 (build number: 12H321) for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Apple had seeded the first beta version of iOS 8.4.1 to developers on July 14th. iOS 8.4.1 is the first update after the iOS 8.4 release, which included the all-new Music app that integrated with Apple Music. It is likely to include bug fixes and performance improvements.
It remains to be seen if iOS 8.4.1 beta patches the vulnerabilities used by TaiG jailbreak and PP Jailbreak. We’ll let you know as soon as we get any more information. It goes without saying that jailbreakers should avoid upgrading to iOS 8.4.1.
